One month of Hailee Hendrix! Technically it's been a little over a month. But WOW!
So here are the Hailee Hendrix updates: To start, I am so SO grateful to all my friends and family and viewers and READERS! I can’t believe I get to say that. My site has done exponentially better than I could have imagined in the first month. Other than keeping up with my deadlines to post a chapter every week, I've also...
Posted a reel about the horrors of writing and realizing MAJOR changes are indeed needed and it got over 5 million views on Instagram?!? I’ve gained 600 followers? I’ve sent my manuscript off to my editor?!
It’s surreal and it’s terrifying. To know that something I've shared online can reach that many people. As a marketer, I'll sum it up to a few key factors that actually have very little to do with me, and more to do with the psychology of our society as consumers. But still. That many people saw my face for even just a few seconds? (And many had plenty to say about my pupils and ChatGPT.)
I'll reiterate something here that I made a follow-up video for after this Reel went viral and so many recommended that I use ChatGPT or AI to fix the issue. Here are the top two comments I received:
"Use ChaptGPT to fix the tenses"
Dropping a document that is over 90,000 into ChatGPT and asking it to "fix the tense" is laughable. Even if there is an AI software out there that COULD handle the sheer number of corrections, both grammatically and structurally, I'd still have to review it word for word in order to trust it.
"Command F" and "Replace All"
Searching and replacing every adjective I used in this book with the simple present tense of this form would never work. I don't know how many of you paid any attention in English class, so here's a chart.
Tense | Sentence | Use / Purpose |
Simple Past | I slipped my hand into his, the motion casual, and his warmth spread through me as I stared at the blue ocean waves lapping the beach in front of us, and I felt at home. | Tells a completed action in the past. |
Past Continuous | I was slipping my hand into his when his warmth began to spread through me as I was staring at the waves lapping the beach, feeling like I was finally home. | Emphasizes an ongoing past action, often interrupted. |
Past Perfect | I had slipped my hand into his, the motion casual, and his warmth had already spread through me as I had stared at the ocean, realizing I had found home. | Shows actions that happened before another action in the past. |
Present | I slip my hand into his, the motion casual, and his warmth spreads through me as I stare at the blue ocean waves lapping the beach in front of us, and I feel at home. | Describes what is happening now or routinely. Often used in fiction to create immediacy. |
Present Continuous | I am slipping my hand into his, the motion casual, and his warmth is spreading through me as I am staring at the waves, feeling like I am finally home. | Describes ongoing actions happening right now. |
Present Perfect | I have slipped my hand into his, and his warmth has spread through me as I’ve stared at the ocean waves, finally feeling at home. | Describes actions that began in the past and continue into the present or have just been completed. |
Future | I will slip my hand into his, the motion casual, and his warmth will spread through me as I stare at the blue ocean waves, feeling like I’m finally home. | Describes actions that will happen. |
Future Continuous | I will be slipping my hand into his, and his warmth will be spreading through me as I will be staring at the waves, feeling like I’m finally home. | Emphasizes a continuous action happening in the future. |
Future Perfect | I will have slipped my hand into his, and his warmth will have spread through me as I will have stared at the waves, finally feeling at home. | Describes a future action that will be completed before another future action/time. |
Switching my work from past tense to present tense wasn't as simple as "Find All and Replace" because many of the words and sentences needed restructuring.
I hope this helps :)

So much to do, so little time lol. But I am so excited for these steps, the formatting and the legal and the marketing, and putting it in all the right places, (jk I'm terrified. But I think I'd be worried if I wasn't!)
I'll wrap this up with a few comments:
I am very likely to experience hiccups, road blocks, doubt and probably failure to a degree. But that's why I'm doing this, putting myself out there, not to become the next Tolkein or Rowling, but to be authentic, and nothing authentic comes without some or all of those things. So thank you to everyone who reads this, or watches my Reels, or puts They Daystar Prophecy on their TBR list. THANK YOU! It means the world to me that you'd read it, that you'd support me.
If you want all the most current updates on my writing, The Daystar Prophecy, follow me on Instagram!
Thanks again!
Hope you’re all falling into the world of Termont and ready for the thrilling adventure that is to come with our release!!
